Studio lighting tests

Here are some lighting tests I did in the studio against the backdrop. This video is a little frustrating to watch for me to watch, due to the fact that I don't actually focus the image properly until about 1:52.

This video with about 5 lights, although it does not look that way because 3 of those 5 are behind the studio wall. Those 3 are a fresnel and two red heads that were shining in through the window to imitate bright sunlight. The bright glare coming from behind and silhouetting Jacob from behind is the light coming through the window behind. The remaining 2 lights are a cool light which is lighting the back wall from above to the left of shot and a 60w light bulb inside a paper lampshade to light Jacob's face.

Although the lighting in this video looks quite nice, I would say that overall this test is a failure because it just looks as though we are lighting a guy in a studio for a photo shoot and doesn't really do anything dramatically for the scene. The colour temperatures do not give the impression of daylight and there is no real sense of where the key light source would be in the fiction of the scene.
